Everyone, I'm Sean b. >> Sin, a senior English major here at the University of Delaware. And today I just wanted to take a few moments to talk about a book that I've been reading recently called across a 100 mountains by ran aground. >> Day ran aground herself as an immigrant. >> She came over to the United States from Mexico when she was ten years old and was the first member of her family to receive a college degree. >> She went on from that to write a number of award winning novels, including across a 100 mountains, that won multiple awards for its excellence and writing and depiction of an immigrant story. Ran a grand day, likes to draw on her own experiences as an immigrant, and that can be seen exemplified within this book. >> The book itself dealing with themes of brutality, crime, prostitution, and many others across the US Mexican border. >> The book follows two main characters, Juana, an idol, Lena, both of which you are trying to find their fathers after they mysteriously disappeared over the US Mexican border. >> Personally, I really enjoyed this book. >> I think it was quite the page turner. >> There were multiple twists and turns that I wasn't quite expecting. >> And that even though the book itself was written back in 2006, a lot of the themes and a lot of the stories that are told within the book are very relevant to this day and age. The book still feels very modern face of what's happening in today's society. >> If you're looking for a book to read over the summer or just another thing to fill out your bookshelf. >> I could highly suggest across a 100 mountains. >> If you're looking for more information on the book before you start reading it, I could suggest heading over to the website moving fictions. >> It's a student and professor Run site out of UD has a lot of information on a whole ton of books, many that are very much like your cross on mountains. >> I personally wrote pages for across a 100 mountains. >> So if you are looking for some more contemporary, relevant research and the like, It's just handing over there before you start reading once again, across a 100 mountains. >> Highly suggested the author. >> Is rain a grand day. >> Hope you enjoyed.
