To support COVID-19 response and recovery efforts, the federal government has allocated unprecedented funding amounts directly to local governments and to federal grant programs addressing priorities ranging from infrastructure and housing to economic development, hazard mitigation, and resilience planning. Leveraging these funds for maximum impact will require a strategic approach informed by knowledge of community needs, funding opportunities, and guidelines.
This virtual workshop featured:
- Presentation on investment opportunities and guidelines associated with the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) and other relevant funds, including pending legislation
- Discussion of strategies for prioritizing local and regional investments and pursuing grant opportunities
- Facilitated exchange of information on local approaches to stimulus and recovery spending
