This workshop aims to teach faculty strategies for making students feel welcome and included in class, which in turn set the tone for meaningful engagement. In this workshop, I will provide a script for a course welcome video, a list of ideas to make the most out of the "first five minutes" of class, and recommendations for routines and rhythms that keep your students motivated throughout the semester.
