It can often be frustrating and lead to a messy result when you try to separate specific elements of an image. However, with Adobe Photoshop’s suite of selection tools, this process can become a breeze.
The video below focuses on the different functions of tools you can use to enhance your ability to effectively isolate objects in Photoshop. These include the “Magic Wand” tool, which selects an area of an image based on color, and the “Quick Selection” tool, which selects an area of an image by finding and following edges. If you’re interested in trying out these tools in Photoshop, stop by the Student Multimedia Design Center in Morris Library where you can access computers equipped with Photoshop.
