The University of Delaware welcomed, guest speaker and UD Strategic Communication Alum, André L. Smith February 20, 2025.
André L. Smith is the owner and principal photographer of André El Photography, where he specializes in contemporary, magazine-style portraiture. His work focuses on elevating brands, empowering individuals, and capturing the authentic story of high school seniors. Before pursuing this passion, André served as Vice President of Marketing & Communications at a non-profit, spent seven years leading digital communications for the University of Delaware’s College of Arts & Sciences, and 17 years as a full-time journalist, with leadership roles in digital strategy, production, and storytelling. An Emmy Award-winning videographer, he loves visual storytelling and investing in the success of young creatives and communicators. Whether behind the camera or at the podium, André inspires others to embrace their stories and pursue their own paths with confidence and creativity.
