This interactive workshop explores how faculty can integrate generative AI (GenAI) into teaching while ensuring that human judgment, and ethical oversight remain central. Participants will examine the “human-in-the-loop” approach, which positions GenAI as a collaborative tool rather than a provider of finished work. Together, we will unpack the importance of GenAI literacy, process-focused assessment, and transparency practices that foster critical student engagement. Practical classroom strategies and activities will be shared, equipping faculty across disciplines to design assignments where GenAI enhances, rather than diminishes, the human-centered mission of higher education. A smart device is recommended to explore free and UD-licensed AI tools during the interactive session.
