Text and video by Jonathan Famiglietti, Student Multimedia Design Center
If you are familiar with film and
photography terminology, you may have heard of the term “Vignetting”. In these
fields, a “Vignette” refers to the progressive reduction in brightness toward
the periphery compared to the image or video center. In practical terms, this
effect creates a dark border around the outer edges of the screen.
In this video, we will be creating a
vignette using a powerful color correction video effect that comes installed
with the Adobe Premiere Pro software called “Lumetri Color”.
If you're interested in
using Adobe Premiere to create a vignette for your footage, stop by the Student
Multimedia Design Center in Morris Library where you can book time in our
studio spaces or use our Mac
classroom equipped with the full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
