The College of Engineering is holding a half-day mini-symposium (by Zoom) on Friday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  

The purpose of this meeting is to share best practices about how to conceptualize, organize, create, and maintain a successful research center. In particular, we hope to focus on what works well, and what does not work so well, in creating and supporting a successful center that can viably compete for external funding from the federal government, industry, and other philanthropic organizations.  

The symposium will begin with a series of talks from representatives of some of the most well established (CCM, DSI, NIIMBL) and newest research centers (CHARM MRSEC, CPI EFRC, CRISP, and CARS) that are in the COE or involve substantial contributions from COE faculty, staff, and students. A panel discussion will follow.
