The College of Engineering is holding a half-day mini-symposium (by Zoom) on Friday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The purpose of this meeting is to share best practices about how to conceptualize, organize, create, and maintain a successful research center. In particular, we hope to focus on what works well, and what does not work so well, in creating and supporting a successful center that can viably compete for external funding from the federal government, industry, and other philanthropic organizations.
The symposium will begin with a series of talks from representatives of some of the most well established (
CCM,
DSI,
NIIMBL) and newest
research centers (
CHARM MRSEC,
CPI EFRC,
CRISP, and
CARS) that are in the COE or involve substantial contributions from COE faculty, staff, and students. A panel discussion will follow.
