The next one of the things that Lauren had mentioned during the set up is one of the defaults that we have globally is to have the polls restricted. And basically what that means is that students or participants would have to sign in with their UD credentials in order to respond to your particular poll that you are presenting. What that does, we've done that for a few reasons. One, it's that authentication that we know people who are to be in your course. And once we sync your roster, they're going to be able to respond to your polls and you're going to be able to see their name and their e mail and also how they responded. It's basically one of the other things is for security purposes, just so you know who is answering your questions. Should something pop up in an answer that may not be se family oriented, a family show thing, you can go in and be able to see who responded inappropriately. Should that happen. We have not had any cases like that, but we'd like to have that in place just in case. And I'm going to go step by step here and I'm going to share my screen. All right, and everybody can see my canvas dashboard. All right, I'm going to go into my Poll Everywhere course. Now you will have to do this canvas course roster. With each canvas course, you're going to use Poll everywhere in. It's not just sync one course and I'm done. You have to do that for each canvas course that you're going to use this in. Okay, I'm going to go into modules. Even if you are not using modules, which we hope you are, are going to have to create a module. You're going to go up in the right top right hand corner, select plus module. What this is really going to do is this is going to create the communication link between your canvas course and your poll everywhere account. I'm just going to call this poll everywhere. We usually say do not publish. Students don't need to see it. But if they do, it's going to bring up their student account. We're going to say add module, then you'll see it'll place the module down the bottom. We don't need to publish it, but what we do need is to create that external link. I'm going to select plus, I'm going to go to external tool from our large list of external tools. I'm going to scroll down to poll everywhere, select that. I'm going to scroll down just a little bit further and make sure that this right here, the load in new tab is selected. I am going to select now that the link is in there, we're going to click on that. If we've done it correctly, it's going to pop open right here, load in new window. That's what we want to see. If we haven't selected that little tab, we can go back and select it. It'll show like a little frowny face. I'm going to say load in new window. It's going to say continue to del in structure.com we're going to say yes, select that. Now it's going to come up with two things here. You're going to see add new grade book, but we don't have a grade book to add right now. We're going to say sync roster. Then it's going to let you know depending on how big your classes or how small your classes, it's going to run in the background and it's going to pull your roster over into your poll everywhere account. If you have a large class, sometimes it will take a little bit of time. So just be patient. All right now now you can see in the top right hand corner here, let me use this right here. Top right hand corner, you're going to see any group or any course that you have currently sync your roster to. Right now, I just have the poll everywhere course you will be able to see. You can ungroup them when I have more than one. And it'll show as you can see it. It populates everybody here now. But if I go to just everywhere we've been trying to get them to do something other than colors. Because not everybody can see the colors. So we are hoping for them to do like a square, a triangle rectangle, some different way to be more accessible for everyone. But once I have that selected, I can see everyone who is in my poll everywhere course. They have been populated into my pole everywhere account that has been pulled from my canvas course. Two things that we will mention, it has it in the step by step but after drop ad we do recommend that you go in and resync. It's really easy to do. Once this connection and this communication has been secured, you will go into your participants, the little twins, we like to call them twins. Then you can go into your LMS courses here and it's going to show you all the courses that you have currently connected with your poll everywhere account. Would simply go to the course. We're going to go to Poll everywhere. That's our demo today and I'm going to sync the roster again. Then what that will do is it will update with any new additions to your course. And then anyone who has dropped your course that will also remove them as well. We do recommend that after drop ad to go in and update and resin your roster just so you can get the current participants or current students for your course. Now this is going to come in handy as well when you go to run reports would be in those first two weeks, if you are going to do any type of grading for participation or for performance, we would wait until after those two weeks. But then again, also do some test pulling or poles that make sure that all of your students can get into and be able to answer that way. Within those first two weeks, you've worked out any kinks or any speed bumps and you're ready to hit the ground running after drop ad. All right, that's all I have for that. It's pretty straightforward. But we do recommend sinking your roster. That way you can pull the reports and see all the participants. When we get into the reports, it's a great way to see who is responding or who isn't responding. And maybe then be able to reach out to those particular participants or those particular students and ask them if they're having any challenges or issues. And then we can troubleshoot with them as well. All to answer your question, there is something where you can collaborate. It's called poll everywhere, teams, we can follow up with you about that. Because that's something that if you wanted to collaborate on polls with other people, you would request that from us. And then we would set it up on the admin side for you to be able to share polls. Okay. Thank you. I was going to say, yeah, I think it was blocked currently, but I wanted to see as possibility. Thank you for that. Yeah, sure. Very quickly, I'll give you the rundown on. Okay. Now, you've gone to class and you've presented your polls. Your students have responded to multiple poll questions. And it's after class. And you want to see how the students did, how did they respond? Who participated, who didn't, who's getting the material, who's not. You can come to your activities dashboard as you've seen a few times here already. And I'm going to select this, this group of polls because I know that I have some responses in here. This one just to show you has five polls. I can see I have some responses in here. I'm going to go back because the easiest way is to just select the whole folder I know I want to you results from all of these polls and I'll say Create Report. You'll see a bunch of options here, but what we always do most of the time is go all the way to the bottom to this grade book report. That's what we like to see most of the time in higher education. We'll go ahead and say Create Report, but you'll see all of your students names. Mine are a little messy here. I had some unregistered students respond yours in your class after you've sync your roster. They should all be blue and beautiful. Just like this with the students first and last names. You shouldn't see any of these. You'll have a list of your students. Normally, I ignore this rank option, but you can see their Brad Total for all of the polls that were included in this report. If you want to view that, if you had correct incorrect answers, this one is probably going to be the one you'll pay most attention to. The participation total of the polls that were included in your report. What was their participation, how many did they participate in versus not? That's important for you to view. Then you actually get a breakdown of all of the polls and how they participated. If you hover over the number, you can actually see what the poll question is. Below that, you can see if they participated or not. If they answered correctly or incorrectly or no. This was a clickable image, but there was no correct answer mark. When there's no correct answer marks, it will just tell you they participated and it will be a dark gray circle or they did not participate. And it'll just be grayed out, a light gray circle like this. If they answered correctly to the question, you'll see a green check. If they answered incorrectly to the question, but they still tried to respond, you'll see a red X. Then this light red means they didn't answer correctly and they didn't even try to answer. If you forget what any of these symbols mean, there is a legend up here that will break it down for you. This is just a great way to review after class who did what, who participated in what. There's a bit more. Over on the right hand side, you'll see all of the activities included in your report. You'll see this option for participants where I don't have any group selected. But I could cut the drop out down and say, oh, I only want people from my poll everywhere. Canvas course. This is going to populate any canvas courses that you sync with poll everywhere. I know it's confusing. We call their canvas course poll everywhere. But imagine this was AD one oh one, right? You would select it and then the only students who would appear on your report are those that are registered in your Canvas site. You can see that my list changed and they're all in that beautiful blue with their first and last names. You can see just your class. Then we have this one also which is run. This is where we talked about clearing. And I don't recommend that you clear your responses. I recommend that you keep them if you can because it will make it easier. You can just keep current run. It means whatever responses are currently with your full questions. If you clear your responses, you would have to select all runs. It gets a little bit more complicated. If you can avoid clearing, that's probably the easiest way to manage, especially first time using poll everywhere. Then you can ignore this select presenter. This really only comes into play if you are on a poll everywhere, team and collaborating with other people on polls.
