Hi, I'm Gavin crypto. I was a hospitality industry management major with a focus in real estate finance at the University of Delaware. I also major minored actually in business analytics. And I graduated in May of 2020. And I actually went to the university for the hospitality program. So I only knew that's what I wanted to major in before I got there. By I knew everything that they have going on them and that's why I chose University of Delaware. So the major they had two separate kind of hospitality majors, once more operations based and I would say the other ones more likely to run with the corporate route, which is where. So that way, they have a lot of great resources and a lot of alumni who are totally wrong. So for hospitality, it was a great choice. While I was at the University of Delaware, I was involved in a few blocks, but the most important ones for me was the American Hotel and Lodging Association. Started out as a member and I became secretary and then my last two years of college and she was the president. And he was an excellent, We did a lot of really cool things. We visited a bunch of different cities, such as DC City. He went to Chicago and goslings to Bethesda. And we were able to torrent of renewal tells me a lot of different people within those hotels. We also went to two different important conferences. So all of that was great. We were able to network with all different people. Another thing that I did when I was at school was that I was sent by the program. Brought four of us are set to LA to the Alice conference. So it's basically like hotel bills, daily conference of the year. My company is actually putting might be put a name property and they're not sure yet. But it's really awesome. I was able to go there. I met so many people within the industry and learned a lot about it, which also helped me realize that that's definitely where I want it to be. And then also, while I was at UMD each summer, I would intern at a different property in a different state. So after my freshman year, I entered at the breakers, which is this very big resort beach and I was mostly an SME. So food or beverage enter their name to that. Any different food and beverage outlets. But what was great about being an intern there is that I can really jump into any department I want eight. So I was able to actually go and figure out the best analytics team. And then I sought out for an office, have a spa world. I saw how that was like the pool and beach team or resolve basically department. And then for my sophomore year to junior year and worked at the Western in Times Square as a housekeeping in turn. So it's essentially a housekeeping manager for the summer, for almost 900 room hotel. Sometimes that when you split into two managers, charge a half of the hotel. So a lot of responsibility, but it made me learn a lot more about the industry. So then between my junior to senior year, I was an intern at the can't be felt it and I was helping the management. And for the hotel from a Courtyard by Marriott to a candidate, they were changing their brand changing if my aided in that conversion and then also seem to have worked front desk before. So I also was helping them out front desk and learning all that. That was a really good experience. And then when I was graduating, my plans kind of change. I was offered a full-time role by the same company I interned for the previous summer as offered to be accompany analyst. For that seemed pretty. But because of COVID and everything that hotel and close forbid. But the company said, Listen, we can offer you this will instead, and then we'll transition you back into an analyst role sometime in the future, depending a little bit. So what happened was I ended up going to one of their properties in Annapolis, Maryland. And I was essentially the assistant general manager there. And I was there for a year and I dealt with all of the operations literally, I did I mean, the general manager ran that hotel plane. So I got basically I feel like I got like I've used operational experience and blend here that because of COVID, very short staffed. Now, a year later, I am now in my new role, as you can see in my hotel. I am as an analyst for TBC hotels acts so TVC, who tells us the hotel division within a greater commercial real estate company, the brands and companies and so on that ASA analysts for them. And so basically day-to-day everyday is fairly different. I mean, I have my world reports that I send out every day concerning, you know, who tell performance statistics, sending anything else or investors that maybe the major part of my job analysis, different projects that I'm given from time to time. I mean, we're looking at different properties to hotels to acquire all the time, sometimes worth considering selling properties. But we kind of go through the process. It's worth it to me, create a view of me. He sends an apse, the brokers put that together, give them a tour of the property. That by a lot of it right now, we're focused on acquisitions. So I had my first acquisition last week, the apparent actually Hampton Inn in New York, Delaware, and you guys might know it. We have that property now. And so I went over there. Delta of that. I now have a folio. Be managing. I think that if you are interested in hotels, my biggest piece of advice is whether you want to be not reasons or not. If you want to go into real estate like where I am now, I think it's extremely important to get your operational experience because I can just say that I would look at things very differently if I did it. And the way I look at it, I think it's a way better view because you actually understand our hotel words. You might think, you know, that's how it works. But you've never step foot in the back outside the hotel or if you just never been withheld, you trust me, you do have our mid-tone works. There's so much going on behind the scenes. I have no idea how hard it is to get that pillow up to your room sometimes. But definitely make sure you get a couple of years of experience and operations before you go anywhere else. And not only will it help you in your mobile, your general managers will respect you a lot more, knowing that you actually know what it's like to be in the nitty-gritty hotel operational role. But yeah, that's it. Thank you.
