What are FSAs? Flexible spending accounts are year-to-year accounts where you can set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for current year expected expenses on a tax-free basis. You must enroll every year with new election. Anticipate your expenses and plan accordingly so you spend all funds during the year. Expenses must be incurred during your period of coverage, and your election remains in effect for the plan year unless you experience a qualified status change. The University of Delaware offers two types of flexible spending accounts. The Healthcare FSA covers medical expenses for you, your spouse, and your dependents. These expenses include medical, dental, vision, prescription, over-the -counter medications, and medical supplies. You do not need any other medical coverage to be enrolled in the plan, and you can access all healthcare funds anytime during your period of coverage. Funds remaining after the claim deadline are then forfeited. The University of Delaware's Health Care FSA has a minimum annual election of $120 and maximum of $3,300. The plan year runs from 1-1-25 to 12-31-25, but offers a two-and-a -half-month grace period to incur additional expenses through 3-15-26. All claims must be submitted by the deadline of 4-30-26. The Dependent Care FSA covers daycare services for your tax dependents while you and your spouse are gainfully working. These expenses can include daycare centers, before and after school care, babysitters or nannies, and non -educational day camps. Funds are available as they are contributed to the account. Any funds remaining after the claim deadline are forfeited. The University of Delaware's Dependent Care FSA has a minimum annual election of $120 and maximum of $5,000 per calendar year per household, $2,500 if filing separately. The plan year runs from 1-1-25 to 12-31 -25, but offers a two-and-a-half-month grace period to incur additional expenses through 3-15-26. All claims must be submitted by the deadline of 4-30-26. ASIFlex offers multiple claim filing options. You can file an electronic claim online through your participant portal. Simply fill out the electronic form and upload the supporting documentation. Our mobile app also offers an electronic claim submission. Scan a document to your phone or take a photo. For healthcare, remove the process of filling out the claim form and pay the provider by using our debit card. This option does not fully remove the necessity of providing supporting documentation, but it does pay the provider directly from your account so you don't have to pay out of pocket. You can fax or mail in a paper claim with supporting documentation for processing. Claim and debit card documentation must include the following, whom, for whom is the service being provided, what, a description of the service, where, name and address of the provider providing the service, when, the date the service was provided, regardless of when it was paid, how much, the dollar amount of the service. You can also use your funds directly when purchasing from the FSA store using the Cardless Pay feature. Connect your account to your FSA store account and pay directly without having to use a card. You also do not need to send any claims or supporting documentation when using Cardless Pay. If you are enrolling in a Dependent Care FSA, you have the option of signing up for recurring direct pay. This option allows you to schedule payments from your Dependent Care FSA funds to be paid directly to your day care provider. ASA Flex is environmentally friendly and encourages all participants to go green. Sign up for email or text alerts. Eliminate paper notices and delayed mail. Have payments sent to your bank. Avoid the hassle of paper checks. Avoid delayed mail. File claims with the mobile app or online. Have dependent care providers sign the claim form. No other documentation is needed. If you consistently pay your daycare provider the same amount, you may have them sign just one form, the automatic claim request form for dependent care FSA. Once submitted, your claims will be processed automatically so you don't have to send in more than one request. Interested in signing up for an FSA? Utilize our online resources at www.asiflex .com.
