Well-written multiple choice questions can enhance a course by providing students with opportunities to practice and helping faculty understand how well students are learning. In this session, facilitators will provide attendees with examples and opportunities to practice using, writing, and improving multiple choice questions for use during class, between classes, and in assignments and exams. A particular emphasis will be placed on writing questions that (a) focus on higher order thinking and (b) provide faculty with helpful information about student misconceptions.
