The University of Delaware's M.A. in Strategic Communication welcomed Becky Lauer, our first speaker of the fall 2025 semester for our Inside the Industry speaker series on September 9, 2025. Each session features public relations and communications practitioners from a variety of backgrounds, organizations, and areas of expertise.
Becky Lauer is the Executive Vice President and Director of Global Media at GCI Group, where she has spent more than 14 years leading media strategy for top healthcare clients. With extensive experience in biotech and pharmaceuticals, Becky has supported over 300 FDA approvals and product launches and has attended and secured media coverage for major medical meetings such as ASCO for more than two decades. Beyond biotech and pharma, Becky worked as a journalist for 20 years prior to joining the PR world and has partnered with nonprofits, leading medical institutions, and high-profile celebrity awareness campaigns on a global scale. Her expertise spans corporate media, CEO visibility, and crisis communications, along with deep relationships across global, national, and trade reporters.
